About Us
We are a grass-roots community group who wants to see the views and will of the people of Jagajaga better represented at the federal level. We want to strengthen our democracy and ensure our federal MP listens to the voices of the community and acts with the community’s best interests in mind, regardless of party politics.
From the community for the community.
We, that is local community members, supported an independent candidate who stood at the last election, receiving nearly 5% of the vote after a 90-day campaign that was fuelled by a small but passionate group of people dissatisfied with the status quo. Now, we want you to join us, and grow the movement.
Our aim is to ensure a Community Independent candidate wins the seat of Jagajaga at the next election. We’re aiming high and being bold and we’d love everyone who shares the vision of a strong participatory democracy to come join us.
Always was. Always will be.
The Voices of Jagajaga group acknowledges that we are living on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respect to their elders, and commit to partnering with those in the reconciliation movement to support the ask of the Uluru Statement from the Heart for Truth, Treaty and Voice.
We are a group of unaligned residents of Jagajaga who seek to establish a broad based, enduring and representative ‘Voices of Jagajaga’ in the Federal Parliament.
Voices of Jagajaga respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate, live and gather, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present.
